Vinpearl Cable Car Experience: Nha Trang Guide

Vinpearl Nha Trang Cable Car - Sea Views Above
Vinpearl Nha Trang Cable Car is one of the city’s most recognizable travel experiences because it turns the journey across Nha Trang Bay into part of the attraction itself. The route connects the mainland with Hòn Tre Island and was recently placed among Asia’s most beautiful cable car routes by Travel + Leisure, according to Vietnamese coverage of the announcement. From the cabin, the trip opens up wide views of the bay, the coastline, and the island landscape, making it a landmark as well as a transfer route.

The cable car first opened in 2007 and spans more than 3.3 km across the sea, a length that made it the world’s longest oversea cable car at the time of opening. That early record helped establish it as a major symbol of Nha Trang’s tourism growth. The route begins on the mainland and carries visitors to the Vinpearl complex on Hòn Tre, where the cable car has become the main link between the city and the island resort area.
What visitors see from the cabin is a broad, open panorama of Nha Trang Bay. The views include green-blue water, pale sandbars, nearby islands, and the curve of the city’s coastline. Vietnamese coverage describes the ride as offering a 360-degree outlook that captures both the bay and the rhythm of the city below. The video footage also matches this experience closely, showing the cabin gliding above clear water, passing towers, and looking out across open sea toward Hon Tre.

The engineering and scale of the cable car are part of what make it notable. The system operates with 120 cabins, each designed for 12 passengers, and can carry thousands of guests per hour. The equipment was imported from Europe and meets World Cable Car Association standards. Coverage also notes that it can operate safely in wind conditions up to level 7, and that it serves millions of visitors every year. Those details help explain why the cable car is seen not only as scenic, but also as a modern transport system built for high volume and reliability.
The structures themselves add another layer to the experience. Vietnamese media highlights the cable towers in the middle of the bay as art-like forms inspired by Eiffel Tower design, creating a striking skyline feature over the water. At night, the whole route is illuminated with color-changing LED lights, and the towers become a bright visual marker across the bay. This design gives the cable car a strong identity both in daylight and after dark, and it is one of the reasons the route has become one of Nha Trang’s signature images.

Beyond the ride itself, the cable car acts as the gateway to Hon Tre and the larger Vinpearl destination on the island. From the mainland, the route leads visitors toward VinWonders Nha Trang, which is described as a large entertainment complex with nearly 50 hectares and more than 100 experiences. The island side also includes resort hotels, golf, spa facilities, infinity pools, and a range of dining options, so the cable car is part of a larger leisure landscape rather than a stand-alone transfer. For many travelers, the appeal lies in how naturally the crossing links the city with a full island day.
