Golden Bridge - Da Nang's Iconic Landmark

High above Da Nang, in the cool mountain air of Ba Na Hills, the Golden Bridge has become one of Vietnam’s most talked-about landmarks. Standing at 1,414 meters above sea level, the bridge stretches for nearly 150 meters and creates a dramatic walkway between the mountain landscape and the gardens of Ba Na. It was opened to visitors in June 2018 after about one year of design and construction.

What makes the bridge so unforgettable is its design. Unlike most bridges in Da Nang, this one does not cross a river. Instead, it rests on a mountain ridge and appears to be lifted by a pair of giant stone hands. The concept was created to connect the landscape between the Marseille station area and the gardens of Le Jardin D’Amour, while keeping the natural scenery below almost untouched. The result is a structure that feels both artistic and dreamlike.

The bridge itself is built with a strong steel structure, a golden exterior, and a wooden walking surface. It includes 8 spans, 7 piers and 2 abutments, and its materials were chosen to handle the mountain climate at Ba Na Hills. The giant hands were created with a steel frame, layered with mesh and finished with fiberglass to give them the weathered stone look that has become famous around the world.

Golden Bridge is especially magical at sunrise and in the late afternoon. In the morning, the bridge shines in fresh light above the mountains. By evening, it often disappears into clouds, creating a scene that feels like walking through the sky. This unique setting helped turn the bridge into a global phenomenon soon after opening, with international media quickly sharing its images across the world.

The bridge’s rise to fame was not just a lucky moment. It reflected a larger vision to make the central Vietnam heritage route a world-class destination. Along with Ba Na Hills and other major projects in Da Nang, Golden Bridge became part of a wider story about Vietnamese tourism reaching a global stage. For many travelers, it is now more than a photo spot - it is a symbol of modern Vietnam’s creativity, ambition and landscape design.

For visitors to Da Nang, the Golden Bridge is one of those rare places that feels both real and almost unreal at the same time. It combines mountain scenery, bold architecture and unforgettable views in a single experience, making it one of the most iconic stops in central Vietnam.
